Madison man wounded in Louisville bank shooting
A Madison native, Darrin J. McCauley, was among nine shooting victims at Old National Bank in Louisville. The attack left five dead, including the shooter Connor Sturgeon, and several others critically or non critically wounded. Police shot and killed the gunman as shots rang out, while a Louisville officer and multiple bank employees were among the injured. Governor Beshear mourned a close friend lost in the incident.

Jail project completion pushed to mid summer for Jefferson County
Jefferson County advances with the 300 bed 45 million dollar jail at 1150 J A Berry Lane. Construction Manager Mark Shireman told commissioners the project will reach substantial completion in mid to late summer with a month of final tweaks for software and security before inmate housing. He praised the on site contractor team and noted a focus on high quality. Commissioners President Bobby Little cited visible electrical and plumbing work and said forty years hence people will discuss the building quality. Shireman also presented 71066 in change orders from EH Construction Hussing Mechanical Link Electrical and Pauly Jail Company noting the changes do not increase overall project cost.

County adopts new Unified Development regulations
