Coroner J P Caldwell opened an inquiry into a crash at New Castle Pennsylvania during an air show. Kenneth Smith a 60 year old resident died. Injured were Clarence Martin 22 of New Castle and William Castle of Youngstown Ohio. Martin was not expected to survive. Pilot Marte, not employed by the fair, had set up a temporary landing field near the fair grounds for exhibition flights.
Judge Schoonmaker grants a limited injunction against the National Surety Company from posting new bonds for appeals in eviction protests tied to non union mines. He finds the bill shows a conspiracy to interfere with interstate coal commerce by strikes and intimidation at production sites. The ruling signals potential widespread suits by non union mine operators and frames the Terminal Corporation case as a test of relief pending trial.

Be D. Peck 45, superintendent of Ridgeview Park, survived a blaze that destroyed his home and damaged a hotel in Blairsville vicinity. Peck, slightly burned, rushed inside to rescue presumedly trapped wife and child. Park residents care for the now homeless family as authorities seek the owner of a wrecked 1927 Ford found abandoned on Chestnut Ridge with PA license 129 634 after crashing into a levee.
Firemen volunteers and Red Cross workers combed through the wreckage all night in a tornado zone. Bodies and injured were taken to hospitals and morgues as death toll feared to reach 100. Police warned civilians while relief teams cleared streets under candlelight. Desolation and chaos gripped the city as schools let out.

Otto Koennecke's Germany to Baghdad flight Germania crashed today after attempting takeoff for Basra in Iraq. The ace and his two companions escaped injury, a Berlin- Bagdad dispatch said. The Cologne to San Francisco mission was reported, with the aircraft damaged but crew unhurt.
Keystone Chain Bank of Jeannette and H E Cope attorney at law Greensburg describe the Keystone Grocery & Team Company formed in Latrobe by R J Hamilton and H L Myers. Mrs Roy Miller wife of Roy Miller of Timblin died at home on Monday evening September 12. She was a daughter of Ames and Flora Miller of Timblin and a highly esteemed young woman loved by all who knew her. She leaves her husband two sons her parents and two sisters Mus Twila Snyder and Ars Orrte Snyder
