Army Needs 330000 More Draftees
The Army announced a plan to draft at least 330000 men to reach required strength. Current quotas through November total 170000. an additional 160000 would be allotted later. Maj. Gen. Clovis Hyers testified to the House Armed Services Committee that the 19 to 24 age group would supply most of the new draftees. Vinson stated only about 70000 have been inducted since expansion began. the total for the next months could reach about 300000 men.
