A weeklong water dispute in Salinburg pits W B Serene & Son and two other butchers against the borough water committee. Serene allegedly attached private lines to a meter to supply an ice machine and a barbershop, paying only ice-rate, triggering demands to install a separate meter and charge full rates. The council cut water, Serene restored it, and the conflict escalated with on again off again service, vandalism claims, and threats of legal action to obtain an injunction and potential arrest for damages to town property.

Sanitary Dairy Opens in Indiana Under Smiths
The Sanitary Dairy, newly organized by Clarence R. Smith of Indiana and R. Isaac Smith of Mt. Pleasant, will supply pure milk. They purchased the Grove Chapel farm and stocked 23 cows for tuberculosis checks, with milk inspected by the State Health department and processed with sanitary measures and aeration. The business includes a wagon service and uses Reeves equipment from the Indiana Milk Depot.
