State Treasurer G Herold Wagner reports weekly direct relief payments to Indiana residents declined by 11 to total 3742 dollars for the current week. The Bureau of Assistance Disbursements shows 914 checks issued this week versus 923 last week, with 1361 checks in the comparable week of 1940 and a larger past total.

London Sept 26 George Arltas veteran English stage and screen star was fined 4600 pounds about 18000 dollars after pleading guilty subject to mitigating circumstances to a charge of neglecting to register United States and Canadian securities with the Bank of England. He also paid ten guineas about 42 dollars in costs.
The United States added 300 more names to its black list of blocked nationals and firms in Latin America, while 65 firms were removed after corrective action. Mrs Mary Galido wife of George Galido of Starford died at home yesterday afternoon from a heart attack. Born in Czechoslovakia in 1888 she came to the United States at age 12 and settled in Starford where she attended St Elizabeth Church. She leaves her husband and ten children including Drank of Stafford George of Stafford Mrs Steve Miller of Cleveland and Helen Emily Paul Dorothy Janet and Caroline all at home. Funeral services will be held at St Elizabeth Church in Starford Sunday at 2:60 pm with Rev Albert H Turlick officiating. Interment will follow in St Elizabeth Cemetery.
