Miss Lois Birch and Carl Ireland married September 2 1988 at First United Presbyterian Church in Indiana Pennsylvania. The double ring ceremony was conducted by Rev Frank Lawrence with organist Mrs Br Paul Offutt. The bride wore turquoise ballet dress. reception for 150 followed at McCreary Recreation Room. The couple plans residence at 12 Station Avenue Indiana.

The Benjamin Franklin Joint Parent Teachers Association held its first meeting of the year on Monday September 18 at 8 p.m. in the all purpose room. Pvt. C W Egar of the Pennsylvania State Police spoke on Child Safety and Neighborliness on the Road while about 115 members attended. Homer City Parent Teacher Association held its first meeting of the school year on a Tuesday evening. President Mrs. Gordon Clark presided and announced the executive board and committee chairs, plus a change of meeting from Thursday to Tuesday and a Brownie Troop sponsorship with leaders and PTA representation.
