Washington Sept 28 Thousands of employers must decide in the next month whether the new wage hour law applies to their businesses. Officials said in border cases owners must determine if workers participate in or produce goods for interstate commerce to receive federal standards including 35 cent minimum wage and 44 hour work week before Oct 24. Calvert Magruder lists industries under the law but warns there will be no broad interstate commerce definition. If employees prove coverage in court they may obtain back wages and overtime compensation.
