Treasury approves a plan to organize The First National Bank and Trust Company of Indiana Pennsylvania. A new charter under the Banking Act of 1933 will form a National Bank with $75,000 in preferred stock and $150,000 in common stock plus $30,000 surplus. The Reconstruction Finance Corporation will own the preferred stock, common shares sell at $120 with $20 per share added to surplus. The bank will pay 50 percent of the current unsecured deposits of the First National and will grant half to the West National Bank’s depositors.
