J C Bracken of Greenville spent Tuesday in Indiana. Robert Ewing of Conemaugh township spent Wednesday in Indiana. C M Wortman, Clawson house proprietor, visited Avermore today. Mrs G W Graff left for a few days at Salinburg. Mrs C C Bonner and Mrs G M Bowser of Flora visit Mr and Mrs D T Niel. Miss Ethel Cluach of Philadelphia returns to town for the coming year. Mr and Mrs Morris France of Eldereridge visit Mr and Mrs W B Elder. Mrs John Ebey leaves to spend a week with daughter Mrs Frank Gable of Vandergrift. Mrs J S Roswell and Miss Sarah Hall return from six weeks in Montreal and Quebec. Mrs Vernie M McGaughey of Pitcairn visits her parents in Armstrong township. Mr and Mrs R A Christy return to Ridgeway after visiting G Wilse Earl. George Hart and Park Younkins return from Pittsburg with a new carpet for the Outing Club. Mrs H R Palmer, summering in Indiana, leaves for Maynville Missouri with her mother Mrs F S Barr of East Philadelphia street. Mrs Barr will visit her other daughter and two brothers in Missouri and Nebraska.
Grace McConnaughy of WaHer recently left for Battle Creek Michigan. A graduate of Indiana Normal School and University Hospital of Philadelphia she held a position there before being named Superintendent of nurses by Miss Susan Heitzenrater at Nicholas Hospital Battle Creek Michigan.
James A. Manners and Winona Crops from Indiana are issued a license. Indians Leo L. Holtz and Jeanette Hagerty Rossiter. Mahlon Burkey and Edna Fyock Montgomery are also recorded applicants.

In Kittanning, Squires Isaac Miller and Loe Crawford clashed Tuesday evening in D. C. Mobley's office over political differences, with outsiders preventing serious harm.
A southbound limited and a northbound local interurban car collided near Kingsland Indiana on the Wabash Valley line. Thirty nine people died and over twenty were fatally injured. Many victims mangled, identification slow. Northbound car carried passengers to the county fair. Officials and doctors responded with rapid aid.
Witness describes dead and dying lie in fields and near the debris. Injured were trapped and mangled, with some victims beyond medical aid. It remains unclear how many of the twenty seriously injured will survive.

An eastbound Erie Chicago New York fast line derailed at Conant Ohio ten miles west of Lima. The baggage car and day coaches plunged into the Auglaize river after spreading rails. Two unidentified bodies were recovered at Spencerville and nineteen injured were moved there. Likely fatally injured include John B Robbins Concordia Kansas Mrs Stoley Denver Mrs Julia Farrell Buffalo and Mrs James Cone Manistee.
Toledo physician used tiny electric lamps to view the right lung and remove a tooth fragment from Mrs. G. Cole of Van Wert through the trachea. The operation followed post extraction illness and suspected tuberculosis, with X rays confirming the foreign body in the lower right lung.
A twelve year old, Arthur Frolick, while his widowed mother washed, took a revolver and went to a nearby wood with companions. He shot at a log where four year old Mabel Kimberly sat, the bullet entering her abdomen. Physicians attend. the child’s life is despaired of.
Four year old Ethel Auguist, daughter of Mr and Mrs Peter Auguist of Lima, is believed dying after swallowing toadstools believed by companions to be mushrooms.
The Ladies' Aid Society held an ice cream and take one meal in Wehrum Hall for church benefit. Two hay rides to East Union church attracted both married and single townspeople. East Union Church apron festival drew attendance. visitors included E. P. Goodwin of Lackawanna Coal & Coke Co. and Indiana. Local trips featured Alvah Brickley and Johnstown fair attendees who compared it to the Indiana Fair. Miss Francia Summers of Altoona visited Wehrum. Miss Emanuel also visited John Smart's family. Lyman H. Howe, famed moving picture showman, plans a travel festival here on Wednesday September 28 featuring all new reels. The program promises scenes of the funeral of King Edward the recent Mt Etna eruption and other arenas seen only with the Howe company.
