Kiski Senior Bob Mathias, a 17 year old from Tulare California, was named Youth of the Year and received a inscribed watch from the Theatre Producers of America at a Washington ceremony with President Truman. Mathias, a football back at Kiski, later plans to attend Stanford University to pursue a medical career. He won the Olympic decathlon last summer and is praised by Attorney General Tom Clark for the program promoting youth welfare.
