Agnew Defends FBI Wheat Probe Amid Political Scrutiny
In a Minneapolis briefing Vice President Spiro Agnew said Nixon ordered an FBI examination into Soviet wheat sales and alleged improper information sharing by USDA officials. The FBI and Justice Department offered limited comment as Rep Neal Smith pledged a February House inquiry into the deal and farm exporting profits.
