In a public speech Kang Yo West, head of the Chinese Empire Reform Association, extols American women as the finest in the world. He praises their health and natural development, comparing them to angels.

Mr Wilbert D Baldridge of Pittsburg married Laura E Paterson of Saltsburg at Mrs Porter home in Indiana. George P Deits and Flora Belle Stahl wed in Latrobe. Buffalo Rochester Pittsburg Ry runs excursion to Dayton Sept 27 with $1.50 round trip. Local ads note clothing store sale and Majestic Range promotion. Also reports a flagman fatally struck near Conshohocken and Kiowa Comanche Apache lands opening auction plan in Oklahoma.
Big auto owned by John H Springer, lessee of the Grand Opera house, crushed between two street cars at Broadway and 31st Street. Springer, his family, and the chauffeur escaped with bruises and shock. Gasoline ignited, rescuers freed them, all rushed to hospital. Also reports Gen Nicolaieff assassinated in Warsaw and a fatal thunderstorm in Dewitt Arkansas. Weather notes and scattered league standings complete the page.
Grain market notes wheat up after yesterday upturn on strong cash demand. December wheat closes higher at 7.454 terms, corn up 0.43, oats up 0.11. Northwest buyers small, clearances large. market activity repeats prior pattern with gains across components.
A historic Pittsburg market listing shows mixed corn and yellow ears at 56 to 59 percent, oats at 87 percent, timothy hay at 16 dollars, clover and mixed hay around 13 to 15 dollars, dairy items with butter near 27 to 28 cents, and cheeses from New York and Ohio. Cattle prices range from 3 to 6 dollars for various steers, cows around 10 dollars, and bulls near 3.5 dollars. calves fetch 6 to 8 dollars, hogs 6.5 to 6.7 dollars, lambs 5 to 6 dollars, with wide quality distinctions across stockers, feeders, and finishers.
