Rev Father Francis Pearns a former rector of St Bernard's Church of Indiana died suddenly from a heart attack Friday night. Pearns 62 was pastor of St Schol astiea's Catholic church in Aspinwall native of Bellwood and a graduate of St Vincent's College and Seminary.
The Canadian First Army reports shock troops breached Boulogne defenses, crossed the harbor and Liane River from the north, capturing hundreds of prisoners. Infantry moves to defense positions south of Boulogne as the bombed port is winnowed into isolated pockets with limited links. The English coast is visible from the upper approaches.
