Seward Men Taken On Liquor Charge
Joe Albert and his son Frank were jailed in Johnstown awaiting arraignment on federal liquor law violations. Mrs. Josephine Albert was ordered to appear. The case stems from a Sept raid on a moonshine operation near Stahistown with a 100 gallon still, 1,800 gallons mash, and 43 gallons of moonshine seized. Detectives traced ownership of the land to an alleged, now-untraceable Josephine Fagnucki of Latrobe, linked to Joe Albert through a 20 down and 20 monthly payment agreement. All three were charged under state liquor laws. Joe and Frank held on 1,000 bond each. Mrs. Albert discharged. Federal agents named and Greensburg officers aided in the case.

Harrisburg Sept. 15 The local government commission created by 1935 legislation has been called to meet September 25 for what may be its final discussion on how 5638 cities boroughs and townships may be operated at the least expense. The panel will report to the 1937 general assembly convening in January. Biddle Nemesis Dies in Canton
Pittsburgh dispatch recalls the 1902 Biddle brothers escape from Allegheny County jail. Ed and Jack Biddle killed grocer Thomas Kahney after being aided by warden’s wife Katherine Soffel, who helped them flee on a sleigh. They died in a gun fight in Butler County.
