Captain Willard B. Overdorft of Indiana Pennsylvania is nearing completion of his overseas tour on Guam and will return to the United States for reassignment. He has served as training and postal officer with Twentieth Air Force Far East Air Forces since April 1947. Civilian life he worked as an inspector for Bethlehem Steel in Johnstown and attended Brush Valley High School and Allegheny College. He entered the service in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania in 1941 and was commissioned in October 1942.

Bulgaria King Who Abdicated Dies At 87
Ferdinand I of Bulgaria, born a German prince of the House of Saxe-Coburg, died in Coburg at 87 after abdicating in 1918. He guided Bulgaria through World War I, saved the throne for his son Boris, and later faced Balkan intrigue. He kept a pistol for protection against plots and revolutions. He returned to Coburg and pursued mineral, bird, fauna, and gem collecting, donating many items to the Coburg museum.
