Butler 26 who disappeared after attempting to swim across the 300 foot wide creek Butler tired midway and sank while companion Larry E. Shai 22 could not assist Butler despite helping him to within 75 feet of shore Scuba teams from Armstrong Indiana DuBois and New Kensington along with firemen and state police combed the bottom in nearly 60 foot water with dense mud hampering the effort Butler had been married six months. his brother in law joined the fishing trip

The 10 month old son of a former Homer City couple drowned Friday in a tub at his Harrisburg home. Craig Allen Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard T. Smith, is survived by a brother Brian Keith, maternal grandparents Glenn Ober of Homer City and paternal grandparents William P. Smith of Coy Homer City RD 2. Accidental drowning was listed as the cause of death by the Dauphin County coroner.
