Visitors and court notes from a busy local Fair day
Ww M Piper of Salisbury and A W Campbell of Blacklick visited the Fair today while Mrs Charles Sloan of Credhit stayed in Indiana. James Speedy of Wilmer, a former resident of Indiges, lingered a few days here. Mrs M A Mole of Rochester Mills spent time at the Fair. In legal matters, a driver was fined for reckless driving after an automobile crash on the William Penn highway near Blaursville. Olive Allman was involved, with Samuel H T Crimshra charged. Crimshra was found responsible and fined, while Allman was discharged. Livermore postmaster John C Warwick was acquitted of conversion charges after a dispute with former postmistress Mrs Mary F Bricker. A mining accident injured William Lindsey at Cosgrove Meehan. He remains hospitalized in Johnstown with neck injuries needing surgery.

Mary Lucas Killed In Unusual Train Incident
Mary Lucas died in an unusual train accident after steam escaped from a freight engine and windows remained open on both sides. The Pilot of the passenger car struck a pump, causing it to be shoved aside as the train continued to Pittsburgh. A civil case hearing before Justice of the Peace William M. Hosack lasted five hours with one motorist acquitted.

Speed events featured big Indiana Day races marred by rain
After twelve heats only two finished as rain made the track muddy. Sam Harvester won the stake trot beating Victor Volo after a first heat loss. Opal Direct won the 2:17 pace with Queen Mac runner up. Arion Silk and H. T. C. took third and fourth. The 2:14 trot was postponed.
