Last Friday 185 sheep growers in Indiana Cambria and Westmoreland counties marketed 25 706 pounds of wool through the annual pool run by the Indiana County Sheep and Wool Growers Association. The volume exceeded 1946 by about 3 000 pounds. The wool went to the Kenneth W Marriner Company Boston Mass as primary handler for the Commodity Credit Corporation. W B Connell Penn State livestock specialist and Dur Vetter of the company graded the wool noting rising flock management and improved quality with only 4 to 5 per cent rejects this year versus 20 to 25 per cent when the pool began.
