Thomas Griffin a former Latrobe police lieutenant was acquitted of the June 14 wife murder after a one hour jury deliberation in Greensburg. The not guilty verdict followed lengthy court sessions over defense objections to testimony by Jennie Foster Burkfurt. Griffin denied killing his wife with his service revolver as witnesses testified she died by her own actions. The state contended the revolver was near the body but six witnesses placed it in another room.
