Old Civil War Cannonballs to be Fired at Ft. McClellan

ANISTON Alabama residents report Civil War cannonballs found near Chattanooga at the Missionary Ridge site are to be fired later this week at Ft. McClellan. Lt Donald White of the 142nd Explosives Ordnance Disposal squad will oversee the live fire. The Missionary Ridge battle on November 24, 1883, ended in a Confederate defeat. White expects a shrapnel-like explosion.

College Honors Vet Mailman at Utah Campus

Arthur Aamodt, a University of Utah mail carrier for seven years, was welcomed by university officials led by Dr. Henry Eyling to receive an honorary Doctor of Letters degree.
