American Legion Pushes Care For Women Veterans
The American Legion auxiliary urges domiciliary care for women veterans of World War I including army nurses and yeomen. Hospitalization committee surveys show about 3 000 women in military service and 6 000 have not applied for government aid. Lack of facilities and stigma hinder admissions, risking starvation without care. The issue will be discussed at the San Francisco auxiliary convention. Another note: the national drive for an international air disarmament conference will be continued from Indianapolis headquarters.
