Eight Hurt In Crashes On Turnpike
Eight persons were injured yesterday in two separate crashes on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. In the eastbound collision about 10 miles east of the Somerset Interchange three cars were involved injuring Clayton Nagle 23 of Haddonfield New Jersey Nancy Summers 21 of Morrisville Pennsylvania Josselyn Edwards about 25 of Perryburg Ohio and his wife about 23. Nagle’s car struck the left tire of another and crossed the median strip to crash head on into the Edwards auto according to state police. A four car pileup about eight miles west of the Donegal Interchange sent the following to Frick Memorial Hospital Mt Pleasant Joel Petigo of Akron Ohio Michael B Buchanan 20 of Pittsburgh John Pushing 19 of Cleveland and William J Nagy 19 of Cleveland. Petigo’s auto struck the rear of a car that had stopped after another car had crossed the median strip, triggering a four car pileup.
