Norman reporters describe Neal Myers trial day as defense seizes on star witness Hazel Brown. Brown, a fraternity cook and former nurse, testified Marian Mills opposed an abortion and told Myers she refused marriage after a July 10 death scene.
Harrisburg reports the GOP platform for the fall election is liberal in tone and prepared for ratification at Saturday’s Pittsburgh meeting. Details remain secret, but home rule for county and state is expected as a principal pledge opposing certain New Deal encroachments. Eddie McCloskey launches an independent US Senate bid blasting Reed and Guffey as “Siamese Twins” and seeks Pinchot as running mate for governor.

West Lebanon holds services October 7 with Sabbath School at 1 pm, Lord's Supper at 2 pm, and a 7 pm sermon. The offerings on both days go to The Bond. Rev. S Alfred Fulton of Des Moines will preach at West Lebanon, a native of the town and former Elders Ridge Academy graduate.
