Bakers to attend American Bakers convention in Atlantic City

The American Bakers convention will convene in Atlantic City from September 22 to 20. Reservations are by Mr Latus who also handles reservations for the Pennsylvania headquarters at the Madison hotel Atlantic City.

Man faces charges after alleged bouncing checks in Buffalo

Gertrude's trip to Buffalo leads to the arrest of Smith, aided by three detectives posing as movers. He is charged with passing checks totaling 540 dollars for back rent furniture department store groceries and a doctor's bill. The girl says Smith promised her a 14 room home in Buffalo.

Pinchot Hosts Republicans at Grey Towers Picnic

Gifford Pinchot and Mrs. Pinchot will entertain about 8 000 people at Grey Towers Milford Pa tomorrow afternoon. Guests from Pike Susquehanna and Bradford counties bring lunches for a picnic dinner. Ice cream and coffee will be served as dessert. This is the second such event at the former governor's home in two weeks.

Lightning damage cripples city during storm and outages

Senator Nye sub poenaed as McCormick probe resumes

Senator Gerald Nye was ordered to testify again as the Senate inquiry into Mrs. McCormick's campaign expenses renewed. Dannenberg testified that a woman spy appeared in McCormick's hotel suite after her nomination and that her telephone lines were tapped and Byron Illinois offices raided. He alleged an operative was paid with Federal Reserve notes for confidential reports. McCormick claimed Nye shadowed her and accused investigators of persecuting her, recounting break ins, stolen files, and tapped telephones as she asserted she was justified in her own probe.

Wyand Young of Methodist Church Passes Away

Wyand Young, longtime resident of Clymer and member of the Clymer American Legion Auxiliary, died recently. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday at her home conducted by Rev. Mr. Ringer, with interment in Greenwood Cemetery.

Flight heroes land after nonstop Paris New York run

Captain Dieudonne Coste and Maurice Bellonte completed the first direct nonstop Paris to New York flight in 37 hours 19 minutes, amid world praise from Hoover Lindbergh and Byrd. The 10,000 spectators cheered as the Question Mark landed at Curtiss airport at 7 18 F M with 100 gallons of gasoline left.
