The High Court, after a recess, tightened edge review rules and shortened the time to reach a vasa on the dock Ot from four years to one. WOR, Starigbury clerk, notes the court aims to test its new rules in the long session, amid many petitions on liquor cases that disturb the clerks.
The Kittanning celebration on Market Street marks the 470th anniversary of Indiana town destruction. Indiana residents including the BDA BR are invited. Hon. John S. Fisher of Indiana will speak on Col. John Armstrong's Expedition against Kittanning.
The Clymer Disaster Relief Committee appeals to Pennsylvania from miners, business leaders, Red Cross and Catholic charities for aid after a Thursday catastrophe. Widows and orphans, many with six to twelve children, face dire hardship due to unemployment in the soft coal region. Contributions should be sent to J. W. Rankin at Union Deposit Bank, Clymer, Pa.
The prosecution of former Attorney General Harry M. Daugherty of Columbus and former alien property custodian Colonel Thomas W. Miller is scheduled to start next Tuesday before Federal Judge Julian W. Mack. They face charges of conspiring to defraud the United States through transferring $7,000,000 in American Metals Company stock held by the Alien Property Custodian as trustee to foreign corporations.
In Washington Pa a fatal sequence ties Dr Roger S Parry to Miss Margaret Foley in an alleged illegal operation. Police expected William Borchers to surrender as a third figure in the case, while Parry died by his own hand in a jail cell.
