Taft campaign plans reshaped by Taft voice issues
Chairman Hitchcock confirms Taft will cancel many day speeches after a Newark throat evaluation. Taft, traveling from Newark to Baltimore, held brief Newark Elizabeth and Baltimore appearances, with night talks preserved. The campaign expects the West Virginia and Connecticut dates to be cut, enabling a Chicago night speech, while emphasizing the Empire State outreach next week.

War to the bitter end in Bucks case testifies labor leaders

Bandlow called it a war between capital and labor and claimed the National Manufacturers Association and allies control politics and platforms. The Unite Trades and Labor Council said AFL does not depend on the federation, and officers would lack authority to order ads in the local paper.
