Chester Pa Nov 24 The strike by metermen and conductors of Chester Traction Co which began April 1 has been officially declared off. The report notes local unrest and worker movements across several regions with brief items from Springfield Altoona Wilkes barre and other towns.
John Murrows of Hockingport Ohio, engineer of the towboat W Sion, was murdered Saturday night. His body was found in the Allegheny River at Fourth Street. He had $1 on him, which is missing. Police arrested several suspects, including Tredway, a 22 year old from Parkersburg West Virginia, said to be connected to the Smoot underworld and to have shown a large money roll in a tender boat, with claims he disposed of the money in the river.
Workmen unearth the foot of a buried victim in the Brooklyn trench where fifteen people died in last Friday’s explosion. The remains were found about forty five feet below street level and identified as Vincent Doherty seven, one of five children believed to be entombed in the cavern.
