World Synod closes with celibacy kept and social call

Historical Society honors four with life memberships
At the Friday banquet the Historical and Genealogical Society of Indiana County awarded four life memberships to Mrs. Mary B. Robertson and Miss Caralouise Robertson of Graceton and Mrs. Ethel G. Hawk and Mrs. Ethel Bennett of Indiana. Dr. Charles Weber spoke on the Amish in Indiana County noting 60 families now reside there after moving from Middlefield in 1961. The society will sell the White House known as Croylands due to lack of funds. Officers to be elected Dec 3: Gerald Boucher president, Robert Stahl first VP, Patty Johnston second VP, Barbara Fulton recording secretary, Edward Ruffner corresponding secretary, Frances Strongin exec secretary. Five youths were charged with possession and use of marijuana after a 1:50 am arrest by state police near the Student Union Center on Pratt Drive Indiana. Mental health legislation eyed by university women group
