Twelve judging teams and twenty three individuals competed in District 2 Jersey cattle judging. Marion Center High FFA team Fred Pollock Richard Simpson and Eugene Repine coached by R E Steffy received a model Jersey cow. Clearfield 4-H took second. Punxsutawney FFA third with books donated by club members. Junior awards went to Richard Knox Mildred Reed and Homer Strittmatter with Jersey calf seed and feed prizes from local donors. Senior award went to Mrs Elmira Ecklund for a sack of feed. Medals awarded to top finishers.

Police Hunt Slayer Nearby in Freemont Slaying
State Police hunted Arthur Benner Jr., about 20, of Detroit, on a first degree murder warrant for the Freemont police slaying of Rookie Patrolman George Higgs. College May Start ROTC at Indiana State Teachers College
ISTC may add a Reserve Officers Training Corps unit next year the college newspaper reports. Army inspectors visited campus Wednesday and discussed two ROTC plans. Six Die and Many Hurt in Toronto Streetcar Bus Crash
In Toronto on November 6, six people died and about 65 were injured when a municipal streetcar collided with a chartered bus carrying members of the Argyle and Sutherland Highlanders Regiment of Hamilton and their wives.
