The new million dollar DuBois Jefferson County Airport was dedicated Monday in rain. About 2,000 gathered despite showers as California Democrats and others viewed the event. Flights are slated to begin Wednesday, marking a milestone for the region’s air service.

Five young men from Philadelphia killed in a Memorial Day night crash when Ronald Leidy 21 lost control on a wet rural road and collided with Henry Casey 54 of Glendora New Jersey. Two Kennedy brothers 20 and 18 also died along with Leidy. Casey fiance Viola Adams 30s of Gloucester died and two relatives Lilian Rice 58 of Camden and Albert Rice 5 were injured. Police said a ditch prevented Casey from dodging the other car.
Officials report De Gaulle aligned candidates captured 295 of 452 regional council seats in weekend elections in Algeria. Pro France integration backers won 87 seats, nonpolitical candidates 57, Socialists 10, with 3 seats pending. About 58 percent of registered voters voted amid rebel boycotts aimed at self determination.
An AP report from Evanston Wyoming says a Greyhound bus rear ended a truck on US 30 near Evanston killing four women passengers and injuring 25 to 30 others. Coroner Gilbert Bills noted uncertainty about exact injuries as victims were removed to hospitals in Evanston Ogden and Salt Lake City.
