Clarksburg Indiana man Steve Csanyi 30 died when a highlift overturned on his father in law Alex Zona farm in Kent R D 1. He suffered a fractured skull crushed chest and compound fractures of both arms. Survived by wife Louise Margaret Zona Csanyi a son and daughter and his parents and several brothers and a sister. Obituary in today's Gazette.

Teenager Runs Into Vehicle Near Clymer

John H. McCullough, 14, remains in critical condition at Indiana Hospital after running from trees into a car driven by Phyllis J. Harkins, Dixonville, on Route 480 just north of Clymer. The accident occurred at 4 15 p m Thursday. he is the son of Harmon and Mrs McCullough of Penn Street, Clymer.

Indianapolis Indiana RP Death rode the Speedway yesterday and claimed the life of 29 year old Pat O Connor of North Vernon Indiana The 48th to die in the Speedway s history O Connor perished in flames after his car overturned and caught fire in a 15 car pileup on the third turn of the first lap Jimmy Bryan of Phoenix Arizona won the race in a Beach Special at an average speed of 193 791 miles per hour and is expected to receive about $100 000 at tonight s awards dinner

Charles Duncan Passes Away at 79 in Indiana

Charles W. Duncan, 79, of 957 Philadelphia Street, died in Indiana Hospital. A longtime postal worker, he served 46 years in the postal department and 26 years as assistant postmaster. He was active with First United Presbyterian Church, Masons, Elks, Indiana Borough Council, and Greenwood Cemetery Association. A church meeting to select a minister is noted for Sunday after service.

Auto Workers Seek Break In Deadlock at Ford Chrysler

DETROIT AP The United Auto Workers moved to break a deadlock with Ford and Chrysler while planning for about 300000 GM workers to operate without a contract. UAW members at three GM plants worked without a contract yesterday and more will do so at all 126 GM plants Monday.

Low bid for Route 8 repairs in Pennsylvania

The unofficial low bid of 156000 dollars was submitted by Seigmund Garlik and Glen Willard of Pennsylvania for repairs and alterations to 5 ½ miles of Route 8 southwest of Indiana. Work includes improving the Route 80 intersection with Legislative Route 32046 in preparation for building the new highway offices.

Indiana Countians observed Memorial Day with services in nearly every community and thousands visiting memorials. In Ydru tna veterans held annual services at Memorial Park with Ralph Willis delivering the principal address. Parades speeches and services marked the holiday as weather stayed clear and the Summer season began with picnics reunions and a Mack Center pool opening event.

Six Die In Fiery New York Auto Crash

Six persons died early today in a head on collision in Mount Vernon New York. Flames from a burning station wagon killed five victims and injured three others. The six were in two cars from New Jersey and Connecticut. The three injured were Kevin Brother 21 of East Orange New Jersey George Novak 19 and Louis Thomas 17 both of Port Chester New York. They were taken to Mount Vernon Hospital.

Unknown War Heroes Buried at Arlington in Moment of Unity

In Arlington National Cemetery two Unknown Soldiers from World War II and Korea were laid to rest beside the World War I Unknown, as Pence and medallions were awarded by the President amid a large crowd. The solemn ceremony included marching troops, bands, and a jet flyover, with about 115,000 people along the procession route and thousands more in the amphitheater. The two caskets were interred in the twilight, ending a weeks long selection and public vigil.

Teamsters Stop Philly Paper Routes

The Teamsters Union halted circulation at The Philadelphia Inquirer The Bulletin and the Camden Courier-Post, with 362 drivers affected plus 170 at the Bulletin and Inquirer and 22 at the Courier-Post. The Bulletin and Courier-Post publish today but won’t distribute, while the Inquirer’s daily and Sunday editions face suspension. The strike covers contract terms expired midnight Thursday and seeks pay boosts plus changes. Daily News not on strike.
