Aerial Bomb Explodes Killing Eight Youths

BROTON Conn May 31 deric Carpenter a Navy boxer is alleged to have confessed to the nude assault on Rev Nicholas Shepler his wife and daughter. Carpenter unable to post 80000 bail was jailed pending town court arraignment on a charge of assault with intent to kill. The victims remained in serious condition at New London Hospital. Police said Carpenter estranged husband of Mrs Shepler's sister broke into the home before dawn showing disrobed but fled after donning trousers. He was found hiding in the woods after a 24 hour search.
