The move aims for broad principles rather than exact guarantees and contemplates special pacts with other governments to ease information exchange for journalists abroad. The Mexico City declaration urged free access to information and end to censorship and calls for free transmission of information worldwide.

The city welcomes a large high class show with a traveling circus atmosphere.
In Altoona May 29 4 the Yatesboro pit of the Rochester and Pittsburgh Coal Company was the only Central Pennsylvania coal mine idle as walkouts ended at three pits. Yatesboro employs 718 men while Lindsay No 8 Sutton No 10 and Mohican resumed operations. three Pittsburgh region mines employing 492 were idle.

The Treasury must sell 2,400,000 bonds at 25 dollars face value to raise that amount, with bonds costing $18.75 each. The drive has totaled $2,528,000,000, including $1,430,000,000 in series E bonds. The campaign runs May 14 through June 30.

Winifred E D Gailey age 84 of Edgewood near Pittsburgh died May 28 at 3 30 am. She was born April 1 1861 in Wisconsin daughter of Wm D I and Mary Van Sands Davie and lived 36 years in Edgewood formerly Portage Wisconsin. Surviving son S D Giley a niece Edith R Weltmer Wichita KS two granddaughters and one great granddaughter. Funeral Thursday May 31 at 11 00 am at 149 Lacrosse Street Edgewood with interment Eldersridge Cemetery. Friends may call May 31 from 2 00 to 4 00 pm at Robinson Funeral Home Saltsburg.
