Undertaker Accused of Indigent Burials in Shallow Graves

Pittsburgh May 28. An undertaker H J Henney of Carnegie posted 2500 bail awaiting a Tuesday hearing on charges of burying indigent bodies in shallow graves. Inspectors say bodies found in rough boxes 1 foot to 18 inches deep, violating a six foot depth rule. County pool board said interments paid 30 dollars each. law allows fines from 10 to 50 dollars per count and possible imprisonment.

New York May 26 A pointed attack on attempts to curb business freedom and a plea for lower taxes opened the spring meeting of the American Iron and Steel Institute.
