Motor Boats To Be Licensed In Pennsylvania
Harrisburg May 26 Gov John Fine signed into law a bill allowing local issuance of motor boat licenses after September 1. Counties may issue licenses or appoint others to do so with a 25 cent issuing fee in addition to the $1 license cost. In Tokyo May 26 United Nations troops forged a second foothold in Red Korea and bolstered the bridgehead in Communist territory. U S Doughboys advanced along the main highway near Chunchon and crossed beyond the 38th parallel while American and French units broke through Chinese screening along the Hongchon Inje road. Prisoners were taken as Allied units moved toward Inje and Yangyang, with several hills captured to secure the route. American forces reached Inje and South Korean units held Yangyang, as fast moving units crossed the parallel on the east and central fronts.
