Tomorrow America will honor World War dead as millions wear red poppies. In Indiana the American Legion Auxiliary 141 will distribute poppies citywide with volunteers starting early morning. Poppies are made by disabled veterans at Veterans Hospitals and funded by voluntary contributions.

Harrisburg May 26. Gov. Pinchot vetoed the Carey bill that would require one voting machine for every 350 registered voters in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, rather than one per 600. He signed eight other measures, vetoed four, leaving 474 bills untouched. Other actions included tax and land rulings, elevator plan fees, and amendments to divorce law, with vetoes on a deputy constable and real estate redemption rules.
Three men injured in a freight train collision at Penn station near Greensburg are hospitalized. Moss It, 50, engineman from Altoona, suffers a fractured leg and bruises. Samuel Eckenrod, 49, fireman, sustains a probable fractured shoulder and lacerations. Morris McDowell, 61, engineman from Pitcairn, has a facial laceration. Traffic was blocked over an hour as wrecking crews from Youngwood Derry and Conemaugh cleared toppled cars.
Washington May 26 TNS The government has returned 32 million dollars in gold and gold certificates to Federal Reserve Banks for the week ending May 24 pushing total gold reserves to a yearly high of 3.49924 billion dollars. Since March 815.095 million has been returned. Money circulation dropped by 57 million to 5.705 billion as the drive to impound gold continues.
Three New Castle men Henry Dunlap Menest Russell and Arthur Mosby were questioned by police over the theft of more than 100 relief flour cards from welfare director M. B. Hogue’s office. Russell's information led to custody after a relief station ward was presented to authorities.
Casper Wyoming May 26 Wyoming joined states ratifying the twenty first amendment to the US Constitution repealing the eighteenth. At the repeal convention yesterday the 68 delegates voted unanimously for repeal confirming the action announced today by INS reporters.
Dr. John S. McDowell of New York was elected moderator of the Presbyterian Church in the United States at the 145th General Assembly. The 68-year-old former coal miner from Pennsylvania rose from breaker boy and miner to church leader amid militant fundamentalist and modernist tensions within the denomination.
Oscar M. Hartzell, deported from England and brought to Sioux City, faces federal grand jury indictment on charges of using the mails to defraud. The case concerns the so called Admiral Drake Estate and swindling hundreds of credulous Americans who believed they were entitled to a share.

The county treasurer reports 103 applications filed for state licenses to sell legalized beer in Indiana County. Applicants include distributors and retailers seeking licenses effective June 1. Fees total 1080 plus 150 total per license and bond costs. licenses may be granted after June 1 with on file requirements.
Harrisburg May 26 In oral arguments before the state supreme court Governor's side contends that the Public Service Commission is an executive body and the governor holds appointment power under the 1929 administrative code and 1928 31 appropriations. Attorney General Schnader says the governor must appoint. Roland Morris represents Mr Wing in the case tied to Clyde L. King and the PSC.

Horace A. Whitman former vice president of the Clearfield National Bank and Arnold Shaw treasurer of the Clearfield Cratal Garbage Company were acquitted on charges of misapplying bank funds and aiding and abetting. The trial followed a government case arguing intent to violate the law, with jurors returning for verdict after a three day session.
The Class of 1933 at Logal High School of Indians will graduate tonight at eight daylight time. James R. Spahr 24 of Chambersburg Va was injured seriously yesterday afternoon when his car veered from the Benjamin Franklin Highway five miles west of Indiana, plunged down an embankment and stopped in Lun. He was rushed to Indiana Hospital by ambulance from Ri One Funeral Home. Hospital said he suffered a broken nose and severe head and face injuries and was semi conscious upon admission. He said he had fallen asleep while driving from Cleveland to Chambersburg where he worked for a garage firm.
Italian residents of Indiana plan a special celebration around the showing of Mussolini Speaks at the Indiana theatre. Two bands from Blairlyn and Clymer will perform. Giovanni Giurato, Italian Consul of Pittsburgh, will speak. A parade forms on Water Street at 7 o'clock, proceeding to the theatre with local police involvement.
