Norman A. Shick of Indiana elected Editor in Chief of the 1929 University of Pittsburgh Medical School year book and named president of the next senior class. He also becomes president of his professional fraternity for the coming year. Shick, a 1928 Indiana High School graduate, earned the Rennselaer medal and state scholastic scholarship and is a Pitt B S graduate of 1927. Murder Blame Laid to Fued in Allegheny County
A moonshine feud is blamed for the slaying of Joseph Chepsa, 45, in a driveway in Scott Township near Chestnut Street. Deputy Coroner M F Leslie says Chepsa had been arrested two months earlier for liquor violations and may have been targeted by rival dealers for selling outside his district. Detective Michael Stabile notes the attack occurred after a barking dog roused him. Chespa went to quiet it and was shot. Living occupants include Mrs Mary Marchesi, her son Rino, and daughter Mrs Ida Neri.
