Highway Department Rejects Bids for New Road Location
The State Department of Highways rejected all bids for a 20 foot reinforced concrete highway from the borough line on Wayne Avenue to the Bennet farm on the B.P. highway after a road setting in Harrisburg. Engineers began a survey of a new location south of the borough line with plans to shift the route to the right of the present highway, then southwest to the Indiana County Street Railways track and toward Ben Avon to meet the B.P. highway.
