The ceremony featured singing of America and a flag dedication with thirteen stars for district students and Shelocta Summer Normal. Arthur A Brownlee led remarks on Red Cross needs and mercy, with 857.00 secured from an 85 due quota and plans to exceed it. Armstrong township, led by chairman Wueh Ray, mobilized canvassers for each school district. At the Normal School field, a Red Cross booth run by Miss Joy Douglas and Miss Johnston raised 780.
