Dr W H Maxwell argues corporal punishment in public schools is unacceptable and unwise. He says bodily harm harms children and undermines authority. He favors peer exposure and public opinion over autocratic penalties to curb misbehavior.
In gratitude for relief from backaches and kidney distress Indiana residents, including Mrs. Jennie E. Roof, endorse Doan's Kidney Pills as providing permanent relief. The ad notes decades of use, urges others to try the medicine, and gives dealer and agent details. The second item announces a U S Civil Service examination in Indiana Pa on June 2 for government positions with application instructions through May 31 1906.
Dr Brunen, Rouen tuberculosis expert, argues pure air prevents consumption. He notes more people indoors contract the disease and urges education to promote open air exposure and rural pursuits. He warns against restricting air and advocates bringing nature into schools to foster clean air habits.

Leo Teibel confessed to killing Millie Bernt his sweetheart in Akron. He was arraigned for first degree murder and held without bail as his mother fainted. Neighbors recall a family history of forced marriage conflicts that influenced the crime.
