Commencement at Junior High and Training School Ends

Commencement exercises for the Junior High Department and Training School at Stats Teachers College were held in the college chapel. Thirty three graduates received diplomas after a two part program featuring a Chinese garden play directed by Miss Gray and Miss Morrison, a musical program, and a closing song.

Local Orchestra Broadcasts Friday Night Dance Program

On Friday May 22 Jack Oswalt and his Melody Boys will broadcast dance music from 10 30 to 11 30 Standard Time over Station WAC Johns town. Music will be provided for park plan dancing every Saturday night at the Liberty Bell Inn three miles west of Blairaville on the William Penn Highway courtesy of Liberty Bell Inn proprietor Mr Stockdale. The program includes a long list of local names, with a Junior High School assembly and American Legion medal presentations to Mary Jane Michie and Paul Johnson by Mrs Dale Timberlake and Mr William Ruddock, as President Charles Foster spoke to the pupils this morning.

Young District Attorney Held

David Harris Clark, a former deputy district attorney with a spotless record, surrendered to police in Los Angeles after being named as a likely suspect in the double slayings of Charles Crawford and Herbert Spencer. Clark was questioned by Chief Investigator Blayney Matthews and District Attorney Baron Fitts, with Sheriffs detective Roy Steckel assisting.

Highway Patrol Officer Injured in Ebensburg Incident

Memorial Hospital at Johnstown reports Patrolman Linder sustained a brain concussion and probable skull fracture. An X ray was planned to assess the head injury while he remained in shock. With no witnesses, Ebensburg sub-station officers delayed an immediate probe, promising an intensive investigation today to determine the cause.

George L. Heim Killed in Evening Accident

George L. Heim was instantly killed last evening after serving as pastor in Glen Campbell and Plumville district. He led three churches Mahoning near Plumville Am brose Ambrose and Crooked Creek Chambersville. Survived by his father Daniel 74 and sister Mrs D J Monro of Williamsport. Funeral plans pending with Sunday service near Plumville and burial Tuesday at Montoursville announced tomorrow.

Air Forces Move Units to New York by Train Convoy

Air forces depart Dayton bound for New York with 45 transports via Middletown Pennsylvania. Thirty six heavy bombers head to New York via Aberdeen Maryland. Thirty nine observation planes followed by a squadron of 40 travel to New York via Washington.
