May 21 dispatch reports incendiary bombs hit the Basque yacht Golzcko-lzarra off Bilbao amid an air battle. Insurgents claim the vessel burned in the Bay of Biscay carrying Basque cabinet members and jewels worth 7,000,000 pesetas. One government plane was shot down in the dog fight.
Frank McCoy died at 428 North Fourth Street from heart condition. He was born March 10, 1875 and survived by his mother Elizabeth and brothers George and John P McCoy of Indiana. Funeral tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. at his former home, Rev Dr Arthur J Ffohl officiating, burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Howard L Tomb died suddenly in Bedford Pennsylvania at age 52 in his fifty third year. He was son of Asabella Lowry Tomb and nephew of W P Lowry of Water Street. Funeral at his residence 703 Washington Avenue Oakmont on Saturday at 3 p.m. Sarah Jane Montgomery, 59, died at 1305 Franklin Street in Johnstown. Formerly of Indiana County. Funeral Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Ollerhein Church near McGee’s Mills, burial in church cemetery.

Lamont spoke at a banquet commemorating the Lindbergh flight to Paris ten years ago, noting the couple’s enduring prominence and ties to their homeland.
London May 21 A secret court martial dismissed Henry W Mapp age 70 chief of staff after a 50 year career in the Salvation Army The discharge came after General Evangeline Booth insisted on a five officer trial claiming she did not want it said she eliminated a man whose influence rivaled hers.
The union representing 18 000 workers at Crucible set next Monday as the showdown date if the company refuses to sign a contract. Associates warned a strike would follow. The Gazette Classified Ads page is noted for readers.
Mrs Franklin D Roosevelt visited Greensburg Pennsylvania to tour the government's rehabilitation community at Westmoreland homesteads in the Western Pennsylvania coal fields. She traveled with girls from Tod Hunter School New York and secret service agents and planned to proceed to Arthurdale West Virginia for the rehabilitation project.
Harrisburg May 21. The State Highway Department submitted larger crossing warning signs for Public Utility Commission approval. The new signs will be 30 inches across, up from 24 inches, with a diagonal black cross and reflectors in both RR letters.
The Susquehanna Synod of the Lutheran Church began a $400,000 campaign at its fourteenth annual convention in Gettsburg. Funds support Susquehanna University endowment with $300,000, Gettysburg Lutheran Theological Seminary chapel with $50,000, and Grave Lutheran Church at State College building fund with $50,000.
In Pittsburgh on May 21 two women jurors fainted after seeing blood-stained bedclothes tied to the murder case of District Attorney James A. Reilly. Juror No. 9 glanced at a sheet, coughed and looked away while another juror covered her eyes. Judge H W MacNaugher recessed the court for 18 minutes while they recovered.

Indiana State Teachers College announces a weekend of alumni events starting with an 10:00 alumni meeting and 11:00 executive council session on campus.
