Wilkes-Barre Road Death Kills Youth In Crash

In Hanover Township a car failed to negotiate a curve on Wilkes Barre Road and plunged into a creek hitting a 20 foot concrete abutment. Charles Slivinski 16 died from a fractured skull and neck while Robert Gist 17 was hospitalized in critical condition with head and facial injuries. Gist was driving the car at the time.

Delaware UK River Pact Bill passes Senate in 16-0 vote

Delaware becomes a full partner in the Delaware River basin compact as the Senate approves the bill 16 to 0 with one abstention. The plan would fund an interstate agency to manage water resources for at least 50 years across four states with Delaware covering about 10 percent of annual operating costs, while New York and New Jersey support the pact and Pennsylvania and the federal approval remain pending. The measure moves to Governor Carigianni for signature.

Kennedy First Lady to Grant All French TV Interview in Ottawa

Jacqueline Kennedy agreed to a full French language television interview in Ottawa during her two day Canadian visit. The First Lady spoke a few phrases, with the Montreal broadcast to air next week. She planned a brief stop at the National Gallery and a look at the Royal Canadian Mounted Police musical ride at Rockcliffe.
