Kiski School announces memorial scholarships fund
Kiski School establishes a five thousand dollar Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of three former presidents. It will award three full tuition scholarships of one thousand dollars and six half tuition scholarships of five hundred dollars each to high school graduates or students. Scholarships depend on financial need and are based on a scholastic aptitude exam, interview, and personal criteria. Exams and interviews occur May 25 at the school following a candidate luncheon. Aged railman fatally struck while waiting on highway
John F. Jacobs, 76, a retired Altoona railroad shopman, died after being struck by an automobile last Sunday along a highway near Shirleysburg Huntington County. WNIONTOWN May 17 Two layin hands found the charred body of Pierce Keelover a 78 year old retired farmer in his smoke filled home yesterday. He lived alone and was believed to have burned to death when ashes from his pipe lit the mattress of his bed.
