Officers Seize 800 Gallon Stills in Water Street Garage
Police raid on a private garage behind 1117 Maple Street uncovered four stills with a total capacity of 800 gallons and other liquor making equipment. Leading to the arrest of Jaffuta who claimed the garage was rented to DeMinto for car storage. Also seized were 33 five quart containers and 105 gallons of whiskey. Harry Cornell, a Blairsville township farmer, was found dead in a field on his farm near Blairsville. The coroner’s inquiry concluded the death was due to a heart attack occurring late yesterday or early today as his wife searched for him after he failed to return to the farmhouse.
