Safety group meeting at the A P Office Indiana reports six lost time accidents in April. Joseph A Holmes Safety Association presided in the Rochester and Pittsburgh Coal Co conference room. Banners were awarded to Lucerne Mine Watson Mine Waterman Mine. Magistrela spoke on the National Holmes Safety Campaign conference. Veterans Club Reunion to Meet in Pittsburgh

County Industry Shows Increase in 1953

Fulton County industry output rose about 13 percent in 1953, with value of products totaling 1,315,900 up from 1,164,600 the prior year. Manufacturing value added slipped slightly from 172,600 to 171,000. The County Industry Club meeting in McKeesport will feature W. R. Voorhis and P. L. Sample as speakers. 300 expected attendees.

Mrs Oatis Reunited After Husband's Pardon

Mrs Oatis expressed gratitude and joy after her husband William was pardoned. She noted six letters from him since his imprisonment and credited a letter she wrote to the Czech president as contributing to the release. The AP and State Department aided during the months of waiting.

New Chairman at Indiana State Teachers College Named

Dr. Ralph W. Cordier, Ammermen historian and author, named chairman of the social studies faculty at Indiana State Teachers College effective September 1, 1953. He succeeds Dean Waller M. Whitmyre, longtime social studies chair who remains dean of men as Whitmyre Hall expands. Cordier, Rand McNally Social Studies editor, has co authored eight histories and published over 30 education and history articles.

Bond Issue OK'd for Mt Lebanon Church in Harrisburg

The Department of Internal Affairs approved a $180,000 bond issue for a Mifflin County plan to finance real estate and tax equalization, enabling a records system reindexing at First United Presbyterian in Indiana. Reverend Frank A. Lawrence will assume duties July 19 after four years at Mt. Lebanon where Sabbath attendance rose 40 percent and a class for young married couples grew from 30 to 100.

Obituary: Michael Kundla 82 Dies in Dunkirk New York

Michael Kundla aged 82 died yesterday in Dunkirk New York. Born in Czechoslovakia in 1871 he married Mary Machant who died in 1927. Survived by three daughters Mrs Romance Indiana and four others in Dunkirk plus two sons. Services will be held in Dunkirk.
