Two well known Indiana residents from Zion Lutheran Church died yesterday afternoon. Polly Catherine Harmon Shaffer died at 2 30 p m at 452 College avenue. Clarence S Borland died at 4 25 p m at 1250 Philadelphia street. Shaffer, born August 17 1863, leaves five children J Farr Charles C Harry and Samuel H Shaffer and Mrs Nicholson of Clymer and 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Borland, born August 10 1872 in White township, had lived in Indiana 35 years. Services for Shaffer set for Saturday at Leydie Funeral Home with Rev Arthur J Pfohl officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery.

Fire threatens Cramp's Yard in Philadelphia blaze
A massive fire in Philadelphia's Port Richmond area destroyed the Wilson H Lear Lumber Yard and damaged nearby buildings including a cabinet factory. Losses surpassed a million dollars.
