A tractor-trailer rig operated by Jimmy Shore of Riverhead New York ran away from a mountain site and struck the home of Willie Carr on Penn View Mountain near Route 22. Damages totaled 25 000 with the rig 10 000 and the house 15 000. No injuries. Two more injuries occurred in a separate two-vehicle crash on N Ninth Street. Blaze Destroys Vacant Home at Glen Campbell Road
A fire early this morning destroyed a vacant two story frame house at Glen Campbell Road. Commodore volunteer firefighters were dispatched by 9 1 1 at 12 42 a m. The building was identified as the old Ted Stewart homestead with the current owner unknown. Cause and extent of damage were not determined.
