Sheriff Kills Soldiers in Georgia Arm by Self Defense
In Warner Springs Georgia on May 14 a Hawkinsville police chief testified at a coroner jury hearing that two Fort Bragg soldiers, Louie Passmore and Lon G. Asman of the 504th Regiment, were unarmed and handcuffed when he shot them after they allegedly attacked him and tried to seize his gun. The coroner's jury ruled the deaths were in self defense as the men were being transported to Robins Air Base. The report also notes other enacted bills expanding local authority and veterans license renewals.
