Army Planes Hit Off For Greenely Island
MITCHEL FIELD May 12 Two Army amphibian planes sent by the War Department to Greenely Island to aid in bringing the Bremen back to civilization took off from Mitchell Field this morning after arriving at Miller Field from Bolling Field at 6 39 A.M. One plane was piloted by Captain Ira C. Baker with Fred Melchoir, chief pilot of Junkers in America, as passenger. The Bremen had earlier stalled on Greenely Island after the three musketeers Koehl Fitzmaurice and Vorhefeld landed following their trans Atlantic jump. The other plane, piloted by Lt. Muir W.
